Dear Friends of Cyprus,

  

We are all disappointed and frustrated that 37% of our beloved Cyprus is still under occupation by Turkish troops.  What is even more alarming is that during the past 51 years, Turkey has transformed the occupied area into a suburb of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots are now a minority and illegal immigrants from Turkey exceeds 300,000.  For 51 years, the Republic of Cyprus has been in negotiations with zero results due to the intransigence of Turkey.

  

We, the Diaspora Hellenes, must continue our efforts to promote the struggle of the Cypriot people for Freedom and Justice.  During this Christmas Holiday, please remember that the Republic of Cyprus, a member of the United Nations and the European Union, needs our continued support.

We will not forget the great injustice of July 20, 1974!
