PSEKA Mourns the Passing of Ms. Elle StavrouDuring the past 49 years, we had to bear the painful loss of relatives, friends and supporters who died with the dream of returning to their homes and seeing a free and united Cyprus. Today we lost a true champion of freedom, Elle Stavrou, known as “Helen of Kyrenia” who attended our conferences, cultural events, memorials and always demonstrations against the continued illegal occupation by Turkish troops. A fierce fighter who survived the tragic invasion and forcibly removed from her home, she became a symbol of hope for all of us. I wish I had magic words to ease the pain and sorrow of her family, but more important, in memory of Elle, let’s declare once again, that the Hope endures and May her memory be eternal!
